Come and spend your Monday mornings doing something slow, beautiful, and completely absorbing. Our new weekly workshop introduces Bojagi, a traditional Korean textile practice that transforms small pieces of cloth into works of quiet art through careful hand-sewing. If you have been looking for a creative practice that settles the mind and builds a real skill, this is it.

Bojagi has a distinctive philosophy at its heart: nothing is hidden, nothing is wasted. Cloth fragments are joined using a seam method that finishes cleanly on both sides, so the textile can be read from the front or the back with equal clarity. There is no backing fabric, no concealed structure. The seam is the work itself, a line of drawing and rhythm running across the surface.

Your guide for this journey is Martina Latimer, a Brisbane-based multidisciplinary artist who has spent ten years working in textiles as a pattern designer and teacher of contemporary patchwork. Now working predominantly in oil painting and printmaking, Martina's practice is rooted in close observation, layered thinking, and a fascination with the intricacies of daily life.

In each session, Martina guides you through the foundational Bojagi technique, working with irregular fragments that are slowly and patiently assembled into a unified whole. The process encourages attentiveness and improvisation in equal measure.

No prior experience is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to slow down. Sessions include a relaxed tea break and places are limited.

This June, bring a friend and your friend's place is just $50. A lovely way to start a new practice together.
